We strive to publish in highly competitive venues such as MobiCom, MobiHoc, INFOCOM, SenSys, MobiSys, IPSN, Sigmetrics, CHI, among others. Sometimes, we succeed, other times we try harder. Our goal is to publish research work that makes a difference. To make it specific and measurable, we have set a goal for ourselves:

Maintain an m-value of at least 1, i.e., increase the h-index by at least 1 per year.
(Our current m-index is 8/5.)

We have been fortunate to have met this goal so far. Only time will tell whether we will continue to be fortunate 10 years into the future.

Impact Factor of MobiCom and MobiHoc for Year 2007:

As per our calculation, based on citation data provided by Google Scholar, the 2007 Impact Factor for these two premier conferences are:

MobiCom Impact Factor = 17.21
MobiHoc Impact Factor = 12.41

The above values are based on citations for papers published in Years 2005 and 2006. The citation data was collected on 11/13/2007.

For comparison purposes, the Impact Factor of MobiCom was listed as 2.76 by CiteSeer in 2003, which was fifth highest of all Computer Science publication venues in that year. The significant increase in the impact factor may be attributed partly to the increasing popularity of MobiCom but mostly to the comprehensive and timely citation data made available by Google Scholar, in our opinion. It is plausible that if the impact factor of other premier conferences (such as SIGCOMM, SIGGRAPH, INFOCOM, SenSys, KDD, STOC, FOCS, ICSE, FSE/SIGSOFT) are computed using Google Scholar, their values will be significantly higher than that reported in
CiteSeer in 2003.

For independent verification, find below a paper by paper citation for MobiCom and MobiHoc for Years 2005 and 2006 as reported in Google Scholar on 11/13/2007. The citations are listed in the order they appear in DBLP. The list includes challenge papers but excludes plenary talks.
